Active Child announces Melbourne Festival show; new EP ‘Rapor’
Active Child, the musical endeavor of Pat Grossi, is pleased to announce his return to Australia; appearing at the Melbourne Festival on Friday October 25.
After releasing the critically acclaimed debut album, You Are All I See in 2011 Active Child hit the road for two non stop years of US and European headline tours, shared stages with the likes of M83, and multiple festival stops including Hove Festival, Montreaux Jazz, and St Jerome’s Laneway Festival. Following this international run, Grossi returned to his home studio, Rapor, in Los Angeles with a new inspiration and vision for his next release.
“Being on the road for that long was exhausting, frustrating at times, but it was occasionally highlighted with the most profound outpouring of emotion. There is no way to really explain the feeling of a complete stranger coming up to you after a show, wrapping their arms around you and sobbing uncontrollably. It was in those moments that I realized where I fit in, I guess you could say I found my place as an artist. And it pushed me further than I ever thought I could go.”
After spending a year at home writing, Grossi is ready to release a new body of work titled after his mountaintop studio, Rapor. The opening track, entitled ‘She Cut Me’, can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/active-child/she-cut-me
