Holly Throsby is a songwriter, musician and novelist from Sydney, Australia.
She has released four critically acclaimed solo albums on the Spunk label – On Night (2004), Under the Town (2006), A Loud Call (2008), and Team (2011); as well as a collection of original children’s songs – See! (2010) – through ABC Records. Holly is part of the band Seeker Lover Keeper (with Sally Seltmann and Sarah Blasko).
Holly’s debut novel, Goodwood, was published by Allen & Unwin in October 2016. Described by The Australian as “wonderfully lush and well-realised”, and as “chilling and evocative” by Who Weekly, Goodwood was awarded 5 stars from Good Readings Magazine & 4.5 stars from Books and Publishing. It was Book of the Month at Dymocks across Australia for the month of October.
Holly has been nominated for four ARIA Awards – including two for Best Female Artist, and one for Best Children’s Album. She has toured extensively at home and abroad with artists such as Joanna Newsom, Bill Callahan, Paul Kelly, Devendra Banhart and The Handsome Family.
Holly’s sixth studio album After a Time is due for release on Spunk Records early 2017.
